There are three immigration programs under Express Entry, and each has different requirements.
Federal Skilled Worker Program
Assessment is based on your personal skills.
If you score 67 points or higher from 100 in six selection factors table, you may qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
For getting such a score without job offer and experience in Canada you must:
have Language ability equal to IELTS general 7.5 or higher, have at least five years of managerial experience in your profession and be between 24-32 years of age. You should also have a master’s degree from an accredited university which Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada can evaluate your documents from.
Federal Skilled Trades Program
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
For this program you must have at least 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the 5 years before you apply.
You must have IELTS general 5 and higher, meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification, except for needing a certificate of qualification. Have a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least 1 year or certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority.
Canadian Experience Class
Have language ability of IELTS general 7 and higher and studied and worked in Canada.
This is the program you apply after your Study Permit pathway.
You should have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply. The work experience must be full-time or an equal amount in part-time. You should also have gained your work experience by working in Canada legally.
According to the Canadian National Occupational Classification, skilled work experience means: managerial jobs , professional jobs , technical jobs and skilled trades.
